Hy,
I’ll hope you guys are doing great and the off season treats you well.
for my this years start up news I’ll show you some oldschool stuff that describes my career. As a former BMX racer, I start in the mid 90′s with MTB Dual Slalom to show my skills on a 26″ bike… good memories and fascinating racing back in the days… Anyway, lets have a look at my team gear and signature stuff:

As a rider you are always dreaming about having your signature products. So did I. Sharing your ideas with your main partners will be successful and create great stuff till you start your own little brand. Running your own business does not only means having cool products, it’s important to support events or rider projects. Let’s have a look at the DH home trail series 2013:

Fabien Barel is on Canyon. As a member of the new Canyon Factory Enduro Team I was in Nice/France to introduce him to his new stuff… This guy rocks… a German would say, you’re not french…
Stefan Herrmann’s new webpage is online. Love our shot from Chamonix/France

For the third time the FMBA held their judging clinic in Munich at the ispo. New members, former riders, athletes are showing up to get a licensed judge. So stoked seeing the sport growing…

Hy everybody,
back in winter and deep pow pow snow there is lots of time to do some office work… SO NOT…
Last week my friends from sunrise7 came over from Ingolstadt to shred our local trails. We did a nightride in the snow and it was so much fun that we want to do it every week. Get your winter gear and join us.

At this years Saalbach FREERIDE Festival I went with the photographer Colin Stewart, Richie Schley and Brett Tippie to the Bergstadl trail to get some shots… waiting for Richie, as always, we did some street art… haha… pinkbike.com reward it with the POD (picture of the day) and the community hits it by more than 20 000 times. awesomess

As I told you from my roadtrip for the 2013 Canyon catalog here is the making of… You can imagine how good it was. What you can’t see on the pictures, Tinges was over 2300 high meters and in the beginning it was really hard to breathe, especially while doing a run after another… But it was worth it.

for the real action pics please check out the new Canyon webpage for the 2013 models and get your own catalog on: www.canyon.com

I had a pretty long season with lots of traveling and and lots of riding… all in all – perfect year with no injuries… but what could be better? Share a day with your friends riding a big bike… here we go… season closing at Kohlern/Bolzano/Italy

A very good friend of mine is halftime Island local. Sebastian, aka SE BKM lives through the winter in Chester/England. For a visit we prepared us very safely, good riding gear, warm socks and rain jackets… With mixed feelings we went to his homebase and had an unbelieveable time of riding mostly the north part of Wales trailcenters. What can I say, nothing… speechless…
Trails which u can ride with almost every kind of bike, flow as much as it can be, technical descents, steep and mellow stuff.. oh my GOD… thank you Se for showing us around an be our guide…

The Italian MTB magazine “365 mountainbike” came along with me for my italian roadtrip. As main stops I headed to my sponsors Marzocchi, Alpinestars and Formula to talk about products, features, and got covered from the newest shit… haha… love it… see some pages in the mag:

Servus and back from my US trip I’ve missed the famous Oktoberfest in Munich… good one…!
To get prepared riding in sunny California we had some couple days of neverending summer here in Munich… @my local Pumptrack

Tarek and me left Munich on the 17th to go to Vegas for the world premiere of the latest MTB Movie “Where the Trail ends”. At the same time was the famous tradeshow “Interbike” in town. This bike movie is a must see, please make sure you have a good surround system…. Thanks so much to Rasoulution for hooking me up with tickets… unforgettable good times includes the aftershowparty with DJ Jesse Jeff…

Saturday it was time to move on. Let’s get a big car. Three heavy big bags and two bikes will need some room. We got this Grand Caravan which was huge…haha… I remember the Lady from the car rentals: Thats a family van, are u sure u wanna take this car? A SUV would suit you way better….
As soon we got to Laguna we had a really chilled dinner which felt pretty cool after the intense Vegas time. The next days will bring some riding… hopefully…
Lets go for a ride… Rey, Lopes and “the doc” came by and we went for a roadride late in the day… I didn’t know that it’s getting dark within minutes and we had tu hurry up to get back. Hans and Tarek tooked it easy and with a group of 3 we were tryin to get home in time. Following Lopes and “the doc” with their roadbikes I pushed hard on my Canyon 29er. Grabbing my fork crown makes me kind of more aerodynamic at it was good enought to follow them only in their drafts.

Our little cottage we’ve rent was kind of a meeting point every day. From here we start all our trips, rides and routes. So on a wednesday eve… Brian, Richey and Hans took me to the “Rads” ride… These are more or less the first mtb club way before Freeride was born. They do almost everything… I was kinda surprised going with 50 people in a trail and usually u get stocked somewhere… not here.. no matter what age, everybody was super fit and got lots of skills. A few descents were really knarly… Thanks for the ride…

The high end brand Crank Brothers have their headquarters in town, so cool. Really close to the beach and to the best trails around Laguna Canyon… I could use their workshop to fix my bike after some riding… got some hot parts to test and had always fun beeing there…

during my whole time in Laguna I was testing a new CC stem from the Renthal crew… Awesome giving input and feedback. The stem will be lightweight strong shit… Would love to use it on my DH bikes;)…

Tareks birthday bbq at Lopes garden. so much fun. Hans and Carmen, u were missed that night.

good to meet all together… good fun at Hans terrace and the Big Fish restaurant… where’s the fish?

Thank u everybody for the unbelieveable time in Laguna Beach…
Back to business we were off to the biggest MTB Freeride Event in Virgin/Utah: the Red Bull Rampage
I was honored to be the first european judge in the history of Rampage… so proud…
The event was knarly, up to 25m gaps, crazy drops and the steepest lines I’ve ever seen… Hands up, to compete here, u have to be one of the best MTB’ers worldwide… The results were clear, Kurt Sorge took the win and an awesome second place to Antoine Bizet from France… 3rd place went to Logan Binggeli… my favorite: Andreu, who was the fastest racing down the rocks in the steepest sections, got 4th. A fail in his bottom part took him from the podium… but for real, happy that everybody had no serious injuries… just broken ankles, bruises, and lots of scratches… good one…
Martin Söderström had a hypothetical chance to win the FMB overall ranking after Semenuk’s crashes in both final runs… but the dream went away with a 15th place…Anyway, the european riders kicked ass… Martin on 2nd and Thomas Genon on 3rd in the FMB World Tour 2012… congrats…

…back in Germany I’m really happy about the weather… so NOT… I gotta go soon again…
Thanks to FREERIDE and BIKE mag… haha… so good. But I have to say thank you to Nadine, Daniel and Max. We got the title…

Thanks to MRM for the Push up of my brand:

cheers,
Tibor

Yeah…it’s been done…
After a year of endurance riding and a few surgeries in 2011 we are the 2012 24h Team Worldchampion. Nadine Rieder, Daniel Eiermann, Max Friedrich and I made it in the 24 hours race at the Maxhütte near Nueremberg. I know that many of you know me as a sprinter, 4x’er or freerider… but as an idea after my last knee surgery born I had just this plan to realize…
At the race in Sulzbach – Rosenberg Daniel and Max kicked some bad ass laps out and we got in lead after a few hours… Nadine and I stabilized the 2 laps lead and that was the goal to win… YEAH…
Follow the pics attached… what an awesome weekend
Thanks so much to all involved people who helped us… either of beeing part or followed us on Facebook.

With a big smile I went to the biggest bike show in Europe – Friedrichshafen -… it gets bigger and bigger every year… puh, hard to manage almost everything planned but in the end great meeting old friends, High 5′s at almost every corner and of course good plans for 2013… So I have to say I stay with all my sponsors and this makes me proud again.
Thank you guys for your support, for your friendship and sometimes kickin’ ma ass…

My italian fork support from Bologna posted my pic done by Markus Greber on their Facebook site… Damn it, love this shot and of course, this is my 2012 Eurobike Poster. Marzocchi rocks:

My following trip will be unforgettable… I go with my friend Tarek to the Interbike in Vegas and we will catch up with Hans Rey for some riding in Laguna Beach… can’t wait for it…
Another dream come true… on October the 5th Red Bull Rampage in Utah is on… YES, I’ll be there juding with a bunch of the best judges on this planet… huuuuui

I gonna get back to you after my US trip…can’t wait to tell…
have a good time,
Tibor

Waaaaazuuuuuuuup everybody?!
Hope you’re enjoying summertime…
on the way to France for the big Canyon roadtrip we had so much fun. With 2 cars, one trailer and a big Van we made it straight to Chamonix for shreddin’ their nice trails. As you maybe know from wintertime, Chamonix is a really nice typical frenchy village. Good place for chilling and riding.
The other day we drove on all those “tour de france” pass roads to get to Tignes, a huge area with a big Canyon station in the middle of the center. Unbelieveable how many lifts and tracks they have. Good fun to ride, but keep in mind, it’s over 2000hm and it’s hard to breath if you don’t get used to it;)
Portes du Soleil was the next stop. Rob was well organized with Markus gps system so that we went direction Chambery , which was close to ??? haha… not Portes du Soleil… damn it… Champery was the village close to it… so, back on track we took the right way…anyway, fun trip…

After one week off I’m getting prepared for every years Canyon Freeride Jugendcamp. To be honest, I thought like stop coaching kids concerning my age… but this years camp was special. The group I had have asked me just to style around and use all courses of the park in Leogang. Their wish came true… I think that I had the best time ever and the kids too. No hurry, enough time to relax and stylin’ on every single jump made it so special. Kids, you rock… thanks so much…

Lifefood had a nice booth at the Ispo bike. They’ve served tasty smoothies and had always a busy time. Good sign when people get more interested into raw food. love it.

found me and Nadine Rieder at the Salzburger Land booth at the Ispo bike… too funny smilin’ on a huge booth banner:

Freeride mag…me and Richie – sweet calories….

next weekend will be a 24H marathon XC race… It’s called “Worldchampionships” … lets race it with the Ergon 24H guys…I hope I don’t get my ass kicked…otherwise I do some stylin’

looking forward to next weeks Eurobike in Friedrichshafen…If u want to get your own signed Poster, come by on Saturday at the Ergon or Canyon booth…

see you next week,
Tibor

hy guys,
the Bike Festival in Willingen was awesome except the weather on Saturday… Friday starts with a Torque Freeride Tour. Ergon put their new SM3 Saddles on and we were off to go on top of the Ettelsberg… nice and easy uphill with good fun freeride descent…
Friday night was the Crema Cycle Short Track, a XC Eleminator race… did good in moto and destroyed my cassette in main… big bummer but looking forward to next year…
…went early to bed and set my alarm clock on 4.30 am to get my breakfast 3 hours before the marathon… you’re right… the XC marathon… rain and bad weather was on the forecast…two challenges I really don’t like… but, had a great race till km 26… then I’ve missed the single trails, just fire roads going up and down…anyway, rode it to the finish and never mentioned my time;)…
Sunday was classic. Enduro race down the Ettelsberg. Last year I won but this years 280 competitors showed up with some some good motivation to kick some ass…After the motos the final was hot. Les Mans start… an go… 25 riders ran to their bikes and tried to be first in the trail. On a 4th position it was hard to pass the guys down the course. On the last sprint to the finish line I could pass two riders and ended up on a happy second place… yeah… it’s not about winning – it’s about racing… great festival, great people, great racing…
in between of events, racing and shootings you should have always a second to do some funny stuff… best, share it with your friends…;)

next stop: Dakine Freeride Festival. Looking forward to Austria’s Saalbach/Hinterglemm area trails…this event is one of my favorites… ridin’ with friends, catching some rides with my new Contour cam and judging with Angie Hohenwarter and Andi Wittmann the FMBA Dakine Airstrike Slopestyle. Thomas Genon took the win with a clean technical run and Amir Kabbani got second in front of Thomas Zeijda… good job guys…
With Colin Stewart, pro photographer, Ritchie Schley and Brett Tippie we went for shooting at the Bergstadl trail on sunny Sunday. So much fun, can’t tell…
Congrats to my bike sponsor Canyon for getting more than 40 000 likes on Facebook… broaaaaaap
