hope everybody’s feelin’ fine… christmas and new years are in front of the door and it seems to have white holidays down here in Munich.
…so let me get straight to this:
after a couple of up’s n down’s I’m really looking forward to next years season.
a week off took me to Mallorca to get some strength back… road ridin’ rules, keep smilin’
Canyon Bicycles will sell now officially in Switzerland, so what’s it all about?… The name “Canyon” is already used by an other swiss bike brand… so please check: www.purecycling.ch
Did you hear about this? Campa’s crown jewels!!!
I had the luck to get one of these special editions of the early 80′s… this is just awesome…. big thanks to Raoul Fabisch…
Two weeks ago Markus and I went out for doing some stuff for BIKE and TOUR mag… The front page stories aren’t ready so here’s an other cool pic shot by MIA from the special which will come out in June…
I’m really proud to be part of the Alpinestars family…So from 2012 my riding gear will come straight from Asolo… so stoked.
Thanks a lot to Franc and Elena. You guys rock!!!
Actually this is a bummer but I wanna share this. Facebook has a private page limit of 5000. As I have reached it I did a new “like” page which will be pretty much the same…. TIBOR RAW & ORIGINAL…feel free to join…
Thank you guys for your spirit, your fun and your friendship… l.Ov.E. iT…!
YAAAAAAAA MAN, between my injuries I’ve had an awesome shooting with MIA, Markus and Lukas in Livigno/Italy for the new 2012 Canyon Catalog. Great shots and happy to be on some pages.
On a trip to Canyon’s christmas party I stopped by at Acros, my high end bike parts sponsor,….haha, check out Hotte’s face…always a pleasure hanging out with you guys!
it’s been a pretty busy month… The biggest bikeshow “Eurobike” has been a few weeks ago…
I’m so stoked to had such a great time… met a lot of nice people, old friends, talk to mostly everybody and had lots of signing seshs with friends…
For next year there will be some changes cause I will switch a few co-sponsors…Not a big deal but I want to reach new goals…
So stay tuned till the end of the year…
One of the biggest highlights of the show….the bombergirl is back… yeah, Marzocchi is definitely on the best way to be back on top… Yes baby…
…see u there next year…
Just a week after Eurobike the Red Bull district ride was back in Nuremberg/Germany. You can’t imagine how big it was… More than 62 000 people were screamin’ when the best mtb freeriders ridin’ down the course which was massive… It wasn’t easy to judge a big event like this, but a new judging system developed by the FMBA rocks… I would say, best and fair ever. check out the vid:
For a BIKE Magazin special we were shooting in the “Salzburger Land” area in Austria. So I built up a new bike project called “Nerve AM clockworX orange”:
…headed Saalbach first, St. Michael im Lungau, Post Alm, Golling and did some great shots with the photographer Markus Greber and MIA – Maria Knoll.
riders: Angie Hohenwarter, Nadine Rieder, Tibor Simai
…also the Tour Magazin will bring a special about the Eddy Merckx tour around Salzburg/Austria….
…after a few surgeries, lots of shootings, several bike camps and riding days I’ll be off to do some uphill riding in Mallorca to get my strength back…
Adios muchachos…and don’t forget…Canyon up your life…;)
it’s been not a long time that I’ve told you that I had a surgery and all is well again…what a bummer…new problems on the same knee implicate a new surgery… still recovering but in a good mood;)
here we go…
Here are the pics from the Marzocchi shooting I did with Hohenwarter and di Lullo… beautiful landscape, nice morning mood, great fun… thanks to Ale…
By the time I had my first knee break the Canyon catalog shooting was going on with my team mates Rob J and Stefan Herrmann. Damn that I’ve missed it… BUT… later, Greber, Reumi and me went to Livigno to take some hot shots for it…hopefully it wasn’t too late;)
The big Canyon Oakley Freeride Jugendcamp was waiting right after Livigno…so we went straight to Leogang to spend a whole week with 108 kids in age between 11 and 16… YES, seems like work… you’re right… but in the end, it was worth it… Thanks so much to all kids, riders, coaches and Rob J for beeing a part of it…
Special thanks to my co-sponsors Schwalbe, Vans, Ergon and Oakley…
…after the Jugendcamp I’ve planned a trip with my friend Bird to Whistler. Schley was organizing a camp which I could have coached with him… after my diagnostic from the doc this was all cancelled…
My friend Wittmann was organizing this huge & massive media event… Suzukis nine knights was the place to be. The Wildkogel in Austria present this amazing mood and landscape… I was planned to judge the contest on saturday right after the media week of riding, fiming and shooting… crazy, it starts snowing by minus 3° celsius…summertime ?!?!? Anyway, check this out:
This is my love, this is my color. Stitched by Canyon – raw rusty orange…nothing else matters.
thanks for keep on following…you rock!!!
meet u at the Red Bull district ride in Nuremberg…
yeah, back from my knee surgery I feel so super fit. After hundreds of k’s on my roadbike the Freeride Camp and Festival in Saalbach was my first mtb ride after my rehab.
Schley, Meyer and me were coaching a really cool group of freeriders… Based in the Spielberghaus we always had the nicest trails in front of the door. By using the whole Saalbach and Hinterglemm area we did the “5 Gondel” tour. That was really a “must did”. Nice trails, good weather, and unbelievable views guided our way…
…followed by the big Freeride Festival in Saalbach it was an awesome week in Austria. One morning, Hohenwarter, Bird, di Lullo and me went early up to the top to do some nice shots for Marzocchi. Watch out for some nice pictures we did. Thanks for the great time, felt good being back in business!!!
next stop: Price giving of the kids cup. All the kids were giving their best while shreddin’ the dual course in Hinterglemm. Awesome to watch!!!
In the afternoon I was judging with my buddies Pritzel, Grobholz and Hohenwarter the Dakine Airstrike Comp. An amazing course were killed by Amir Kabbani.. he took the win and gets the highest points for this stop of the FMB Tour that weekend. Congrats…
And now I’m really proud to present you three of our newest videos we made…more than 50000 clicks can’t lie…;)
Big props to SE, Jan, Daniel, Schlichi, Lukas, Tim, Thani and many more…
Munich’s Bike Expo invites their guests for their 3rd showdown… More brands, more visitors and a “go big or go home” indoor-dirt comp… That was the best idea to do this event indoor cause the weather in July was so bad the past years the they decide to do an actionsport hall!!! dirts, pumptrack and a bikehockey field were mixed with the core brands in one area… stoked!!!
A new project I did was my new Canyon Aeroad CF Uhrwerk Orange…I love the neon decals…
check out some coverage in the newest Freeride mag issue and for the 2012 Freeride calendar:
the season is full on and the last weeks were awesome.
After a couple roadride sessions I get so infected by the spirit of spinning around the lake near my house that I can’t stop doing it. Sascha Meyenborg and I did almost 3000k within 4 weeks. Roadbike rules!
As I’ve told you in my last news I was invited as jury member of the bike expo brand new award. After 2010 there were many candidates again to fight for the win!!! In several categorizes we select the winner for the overall win. To be honest, so many cool ideas, organic products, solar cell in all kind of bike products and so on… but the main winner was a really cool e-bike with a perfect detailed setup and an super organized young company.
check out the new:
Well prepared for Winterberg’s huge Dirtmasters Festival we were organizing, with the MTB rider crew, the Canyon Riding Lessons. Tim Schneider – former BMX and 4X racer and rider with awesome skills, Lukas Reumi – Canyons Local Hero and young gun and I were coaching 30 kids over three days in the bikepark… We had great hours of riding, an awesome grill session and tons of fun!!!
Special thanks to Canyon, Oakley, The North Face and the MTB rider team.
Also big ups for my personally sponsors who were supporting this camp with goodies for the kids: www.vans.dewww.schwalbe.comwww.ergon-bike.com
Beside the main events of DH, 4X, Enduro and Slopestyle my sponsor Marzocchi invited everybody at their booth for a chill out with drinks and food. Lopes, Schley and me did a signing sesh while people like Hans “No Way” Rey, Frank “Lippe” Weckert and Tarek Rasouli had meets and greets.
Check out the pics or the following link on:
After hot sunny days in Winterberg we went straight the next day to Willingen to do a video clip with Daniel “Danger Dan” Schäfer and me. Didn’t watch it so far but the time we had was so good. Can’t wait seeing it. Also my friend SE was following us the las weeks and will edit a nice vid again…wuuuuuuhuuuuuuuu…so many good stuff, I can tell you!!!
The BIKE Festival in Willingen was awesome. The weather was ok which was a big win for this event. Remeber the time in the past??? Anyway, a new kind of series was the saturday night event Crema Cycle Short Track Race…Usually XC and Marathon guys are rippin’ these kind of sprints which are 1 to 1,5 K long. Not this time, i borrowed me a Canyon Stiched dirtbike of my friend and made it easily in the final. After pulling 4 laps in lead the later winner past me in round 5 and I got 2nd. Haha, too good, check out the the other guys, I think I’ll beat them by 20kg bodyweight…;)
During the festival Canyon offers the Torque-tours. Which means get your favorite Canyon bike, or ride with your own and have a freeride hour with me on the enduro course. It’s always a pleasure coaching people and enjoy the flowy trail.
On Sunday I was judging with Pete Henke and Markus Hampel Timo’s Scott ON AIR contest. Big Air tricks and a huge crowd made this dirtjump comp awesome. Thanks to Timo for having me as a part of it!!! Congrats to Amir for the win but beeing really proud of assembly industries teamriders Tobi Wrobel and Felix Rosendahl for 3rd and 4th place. Yeah.
The final day in Willingen was Monday. The Specialized enduro race was held early in the morning.
After 6 Motos with 16 riders 4 were qualified for the final. Of course, it was a Les Mans start. So a crowd of riders were running to their bikes and spinning like crazy on top to entry of the enduro course. You can imagine that’s gonna be wild with 24 riders in the main.
I had a pretty good start and were first close before the entry of the jump sections when a XC guy passed me. After a while of chilling behind him, to take a few breathes right after the sprint, I repassed him in the middle section and took the lead till the finish!!! Yeah!!! After a 2nd and 4th the last two years I’ve won the enduro race… it felt so good…wuuuuhuuuuuuu.
At the Canyon booth I did some signing seshs when my knee starts to hurt. For the moment I thought like not a big deal but having arrived at home I can’t even walk. So the next day off to see the doc and getting the diagnosis that my meniscus was damaged. Things like this happen. A big problem was that I’ve planned to join the Canyon crew for the 2012 catalog shooting. Damn, i missed it. By the time I’ve written this the shooting was done and my knee was operated. So let’s start rehab and be back on bike as soon as possibly.
Anyway, I’m looking forward to the Freeride Festival in Saalbach-Hinterglemm/Austria from 08. – 10. july 2011 were I will be the headjudge of the Dakine Airstrike. This year the slopestyle will be part of the FMB tour… Silver status – good job guys…Looking forward to see you there…
good times here in Europe…it feels like almost summer.
My sponsor Canyon did a nice vid of the Gran Fondo event couple weeks ago… I was really enjoying the time in Koblenz. Rob J and me did a Freeride tour with more than 40 people…wuhuuuuuu… we were riding, shredding and coaching a great lap around Koblenz. As we got back, few of us hit the pumptrack course preparing for the timetrail session…what a day….looking forward to next years celebration!!!
As for this new season i built up a new ride hidden with golden parts…to tell you the truth:
:::all my dreams are made of gold::: was the idea behind this issue… I love it!!!
In July this year there will be the bike expo in Munich again to invite their guests…with this exhibition there comes the “Bike Expo brand new award”. I’ll be in the jury again to choose and award the winner for 2011. This will be a full day inspired by the best innovations of the past year…can’t wait.
Once u get infected with Canyon’s -CI- color “orange”. You’ll be lost. Haha, so good, did a design for my fast boxer ride… thanks a lot to the people who helped me on this… isn’t it pure cycling???

Every years BIKE festival in Riva del Garda/Italy was a few weeks ago…The season opener for everybody to meet and greet in the scene…like most of you know I always race the 4X Scott-nightsprint… I was preparing myself for this event with roadbike, bmx track and trails riding…I didn’t make it to the podium but had such a great time by kickin’ ass in 8th, quarter and semi. Almost no break between the runs and a bad gate in main blurred my dreams of beeing top 3…anyways, I was screamin’ while shootin’ the down the first straight…what a night!!! Loved it!!!
Most of the bikeparks in the south had their openings. I’ve been a weekend long at the “Bikepark Samerberg” and “Bikepark Geisskopf”. Covered with sunshine, a good spirit and ridin’ with my friends i have to say, this was awesome… We’ve filmed a few runs with the GoPro and I can’t wait to see the vid. Stay tuned…
The idea behind this project was to built up a bike with 5 gears, a clean look and bring two worlds together…
“Grand Canyon CF five stroke full scale” is a bike which combines style and the bike spirit…mixed with coolness.
You may think this isn’t good for a ride but I went out the other day and had a great afternoon run on fast singletrails along the river. A front brake would be good to ride but I don’t like the look so I cut all mounts off and get a nice two tone paintjob with matches awesome to the frame and ‘yes’ 5 gears are more than enough here in Munich…hehe…GOT LEGS!?
